LAC, Inc. supported the democratic movement Sajudis and sponsored the first visit to the United States by the former President Vytautas Landsbergis soon after Lithuania declared independence.

Currently, the emphasis has shifted to developing and supporting Lithuania's democracy and changing economy. Such issues as the expansion of NATO to include Lithuania, the demilitarization of the Kalingrad territory and foreign aid remain vital. The LAC, Inc. was the initial organization backing the "U.S.-Baltic Charter of Partnership" between Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the United States signed by all four Presidents on January 16, 1998.
