Summer Course
The annual international four-week summer course in Lithuanian Language and
Culture started in summer 1999. The course provides intensive Lithuanian
language classes at three levels and an opportunity to get acquainted with
Lithuanian culture.

Lectures
Language classes are given daily, Monday to Friday, in total 26 – 30
academic hours per week. Classes are held on weekdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. In the
afternoons, students are expected to participate in afternoon lectures. The
lectures aim at giving a broader view of the Lithuanian culture by focusing
on various issues: politics, history, literature and art. The lectures are
given in English.
Campus Facilities
Participants of the course have access to the university library, computers,
as well as some other facilities. Extracurricular activities, such as
participation in cultural events, excursions to historic places, museums,
sports and other activities are organised as well. Three weekend excursions
to the most attractive places of Lithuania are offered to the summer course
participants. Changes are possible on participants demand and interest.
Accommodation
Summer course participants are accommodated at a students’ dormitory, at the
university Guest house or a flat according to the personal need and
financial possibilities.

Application Requirements
You must be over 18 in order to apply. Application forms can be obtained
from the International Relations office or via Internet:
All applications should be received by June 24, 2003. A non-refundable application fee of 30 EUR (in Cashier’s check or Bank check only) must be sent along with the application form. The application fee is used to cover the cost of organising the summer course.
